The second Ghana Philanthropy Awards will be held on 1st September 2023 at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra to honor individuals and organizations engaged in charitable, corporate social responsibility and social investment activities and programs in Ghana.

The awards will be held on the theme: ‘Social Responsibility as a Means of Ensuring Inclusiveness in Socio-economic Growth and Development.’

The Ghana Philanthropy Awards are designed as an initiative which identifies and publicly recognized outstanding social responsibility at both the corporate/institutional level and the individual level. The awards have been introduced in recognition of the need to appreciate and encourage social responsibility at a time that Ghana’s economic challenges are exposing vulnerable communities, individuals and households, even as the State is faced with fiscal constraints that curbs its ability to ameliorate their circumstances.

Awards will be conferred on deserving private enterprises, public institutions and on individuals across an array of categories that capture various delineated types of social responsibility interventions that are delivered in the form of philanthropy.

These include cost of living support, provision of needed equipment and socio- economic infrastructure, provision of public goods and services, general cash and material donations, economic empowerment interventions in the form of training, capacity building and entrepreneurial/business support and advocacy for third party supportive interventions.

Awardees are determined through a comprehensive and credible selection process that involves nominations (both self and third party), authentication of nominations and assessment of compliance to pre-stated eligibility and selection assessment criteria by dedicated contracted research consultants and ultimately evaluation by an expert panel of Award Jurors.

Awardees will be conferred with their awards this year at a five-star gala awards conferment event which will bring together the awardees and their delegations/guests, top tier government functionaries, executive level representatives of corporate Ghana, representatives of NGOs and other dedicated socio-economic intervention organizations, civil society leaders, traditional rulers, representatives of selected beneficiary communities, the diplomatic corps and the local and international media.
