Mr. Surender Singh Kandhari, the Chairman at Al Dobowi Group in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), was the special guest of honor at the Africa Global Trade & Investment Awards, which took place in Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dubai, on 27th March, 2021.
About Twenty-eight companies and individuals from different African countries were honored at the awards ceremony. The member countries represented included; Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Mali, Egypt, Ghana and Gambia.
The following bodies were awarded amongst others; B5 Plus Limited, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, Charger Limited – Ghana; Ethiopian Airlines – Ethiopia; Start-up Grind Banjul – Gambia; Xpress Rent-a-Car – Tanzania; Kwetu Sacco – Kenya; and Global Property & Facilities International Ltd. – Nigeria.
The awards were organized by The Business Executive Limited, an Accra-based Pan-African events and media organization and publishers of The Business Executive, the leading magazine which covers the economy, business, finance, investment and socio-economic development issues in Ghana, West Africa and the rest of Africa in particular, and similar sectors and affairs in the world in general.
Speaking at the awards ceremony; Mr Kandhari emphasized on the collective effort of all stakeholders in guiding Africa to increase Trade and investment in a post covid-19 world.
Mr. Kandhari is also the founder of the Al Dobowi Group; What started as an exploratory visit to Dubai in 1975 by Mr. Kandhari led to the creation of a multinational company with diverse business interests under his visionary leadership. His passion for excellence and integrity are cornerstones on which the Al Dobowi Group was built.
He is an active and respected leader in business as well as in the community. He believes in giving back and has been recognized globally for his many philanthropic efforts.
An avid golfer, he is a founding member of the Emirates Golf Club where he has served as the Golf Club captain. He is also the Chairman of the Guru Nanak Darbar Sikh Temple in Dubai, of which he played a founding role.
