Auto Parts Limited Nissan Ghana has joined the league of companies supporting the country to fight the coronavirus by donating a Nissan Hardbody Pick up 4×4 single cabin to the COVID-19 National Committee.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony at the Jubilee House, the Managing Director of APL-Nissan Ghana, Subhi Accad, expressed the readiness of his organisation to respond to the President’s declaration of “A whole Ghana Approach” to aid Ghana’s COVID-19 fight.
“This was also a call to duty; a duty to ourselves, a duty to the country and a duty to humanity,” he said as the country rallies support both in-kind and cash to help combat the disease which has killed 11 people in Ghana and infected 1, 550 people.
He hoped that his organisation’s contribution would go a long way towards helping win the war against the pandemic, expressing the hope that it would assist the work of the COVID-19 Board of Trustees.
Mr Accad further commended all frontline workers for their steady efforts in the wake of the pandemic.
Former Chief Justice, Mrs Sophia Akufo, who is the Chairperson of the National COVID-19 Trust Fund, received the item on behalf of the state and thanked the organisation for the noble gesture.
She expressed confidence that efforts like this would be pivotal in securing victory in the fight against the deadly disease.
She also assured the donors that the items donated would be judiciously used to fulfil the purpose for which they were donated.
