CalBank has opened three new full-service branches at Koforidua, Cape Coast, and Madina in the Eastern, Central, and Greater Accra regions respectively.
The move does not only seek to provide comprehensive superior banking services to all Ghanaians but also forms part of the bank’s medium-term strategy which seeks to deepen its retail presence across Ghana.
The three additions bring to 33, the number of the bank’s branches nationwide, as it continues its physical growth agenda on having branch presence in all-new regions and localities in the country.
Commenting on the new openings, Managing Director of CalBank, Philip Owiredu said the bank is focused on giving its clients more control of their banking even as it works to bank the unbanked and under-banked.
He indicated that the new branches are a network of touchpoints with the purpose of contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.
“The new branches are mostly staffed with carefully selected individuals who officials of CalBank say possess the attributes of the bank with these individuals either residing or hailing from the areas. The bank will continuously ensure that it will recruit from the local community, personnel who have been trained to deliver the desired superior banking solutions their customers require,” he said.
As part of its effort to enhance financial inclusion, Mr. Owiredu reiterated that measures have been put in place to ensure that everyone is able to join the CalBank institution. “To this end, the bank has invested heavily in its digital assets to create more convenience and enable current and potential customer’s bank from anywhere and at any time,” he added.
Branch Manager for the Madina location, Lovia Wesley indicated that the new branches have been strategically positioned to meet the needs of their customers adding that her outfit will work assiduously to drive profit for the progress of the institution.
“CalBank, within the short and medium-term is strategically positioned to ensure that there is convenient banking for all customers. CalBank is also interested in ensuring that we maximize our efforts in getting products that will be able to meet the needs of our customer’s especially tailor-made products that will give them good solutions to their financial needs. And above all CalBank is interested in making sure that there is visibility around and in the banking industries and that is why today the Madina branch has been open.
To my senior management team, I want to assure you that I and my staff will work assiduously to ensure that our customers are delighted and that we increase the customer base, retain them, and above all realize profitability for the branch within the shortest possible time,” she said.
CalBank has disclosed its intention to conduct a capacity-building programme for female traders who have demonstrated the ability to repay their loans. The bank’s Obaapa Loan, which is targeted at its female clients, has supported and nurtured numerous Micro, Small, and Medium Size Enterprises (MSMEs) run by female entrepreneurs across the nation.

Head of Customer Experience at CalBank, Adwoa Asare-Asamoah said the clients of the new branches will experience an exciting banking system as pertains to all other branches adding that to further enhance the service experiences of customers, the bank has set up the Service Experience Hub which streamlines the service delivery across all outlets of the bank.
CalBank’s alternate banking delivery channels that are available to customers include the agent banking channel, QR code, mobile banking shortcode *771#, the CalBank app, as well as internet banking platform which is packed with exciting payment solutions for both their corporate and retail clients.
Its innovative in-branch digital self-service platform which has drastically transformed in-branch banking and reduced the use of paper and long queues in the banking halls has been made available to the customers of all three branches to enable them to experience the current delight, convenience, and security in being a CalBank customer.
