THE BUSINESS EXECUTIVE is a young and rapidly growing media group, having been founded in 2011. Our flagship product is our monthly business magazine. We also organize and host corporate events both on our own and in collaboration with relevant public and private sector bodies.

We are currently engaged in a two year strategic plan aimed at making THE BUSINESS EXECUTIVE the most reputed up market business media group. As part of our expansion and operational improvement efforts, we require the services of young, dynamic, and professionally committed people to fill the following positions:

MARKETING MANAGER

Candidates do not need to have a professional marketing qualification although this would be a distinct advantage. However a tertiary level qualification is requisite as are excellent communications and inter-personal skills. Experience with a media enterprise in selling advert space and soliciting for corporate sponsorship is essential, along with verifiable evidence of accomplishment.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for coordinating and leading the sales and marketing drive for our magazine, both hard copy and online editions, as well as for corporate/institutional support and sponsorships for events organized under our brand; and for maintaining mutually beneficial business relationships with our commercial clients

Performance would be measured by the ability to meet a combination of quantitative and qualitative targets. Remuneration is competitive and partly correlated to quantitative performance.

E-MARKETER

Candidates must have a tertiary level degree or diploma, preferably but not necessarily in a marketing related discipline. However previousexperience in e-marketing is essential. This may not necessarily be in the area of media marketing although such would be preferred.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for soliciting for and securing advertising and other forms of sales revenues through e-marketing. He/she will also maintain an electronic database of our e-clients and the state of our commercial relationship with each. Performance would be measured by the ability to meet quantitative targets. Remuneration is competitive and related to quantitative performance

BUSINESS/FINANCE JOURNALIST

Candidates should be graduates in either journalism [with a clear bias and capacity for business journalism] or in economics or finance [with strong writing skills] Prior experience in economic /business journalism is preferable but not essential.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for generating story ideas, writing and editing stories and providing interface between the editorial and marketing departments, for both the hard copy and on line editions of our magazine brand. Performance would be measured by a combination of quantitative and qualitative considerations. Renumeration is competitive.

RESEARCHER

Candidates should ideally be graduates of economics/statistics combined honours. However candidacies of economics or finance graduates will also be considered. Candidate must have numerical capabilities. Prior experience in economic/financial or statistical research is an advantage but is not essential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out economic, financial and business research, following established templates and for designing new templates and executing them. Research will be required for all aspects of our media group’s activities. Performance would be measured by a combination of quantitative and qualitative considerations.
