Enterprise Insurance has denied claims by transport owner Alex Kweku Tetteh who said the company have for several years failed to pay a claim in respect of his vehicle.
Mr Tetteh had called on the industry regulator, the National Insurance Commission, to carry out a massive cleanup exercise in the sector, citing his unresolved case with the company. According to him, his case spans from 2017 when one of his vehicles accidentally got burnt on August 24, 2017, but all efforts to secure the claims due him from Enterprise Insurance have proved futile.
But Enterprise Insurance said his claims are untrue. In a rejoinder to the story, the company explained that it entered into settlement negotiation with Mr Tetteh after his vehicle got burnt in 2017. The company said that “…based on the proven value of the vehicle documentation submitted. He, however, refused our offer and proceeded to Court seeking three relief.”
“In its judgement in December 11, 2019, the Court refused all of Mr Tetteh’s reliefs,” Enterprise Insurance said.
