Joel Holison, a graduate student from Accra, Ghana, has been recognized for his exceptional research and creativity at Eastern Illinois University.

The Booth Collaborative Advisory Committee awarded him second place in the 2023 Award for Excellence in Student Research and Creativity.

Holison’s research titled “Assessing the Knowledge, Attitude, and Everyday Life Practices Adopted among Eastern Illinois University Students Towards Sustainability” focuses on the sustainability practices adopted by students in their everyday life.

As a graduate student studying Technology Management and Sustainability, Holison’s research aims to promote sustainable practices among the students of Eastern Illinois University.

The Booth Library Awards for Excellence in Student Research and Creativity program aims to promote excellence in student research and recognizes outstanding contributions to the field.

All entries were original works completed by Eastern students within the last 12 months, and the award recipients were selected based on excellence, creativity, and the use of research resources.

The program encourages students to enhance their studies by utilizing the wealth of information available at Booth Library and other research venues.

The recognition of Holison’s research highlights the significance of sustainability practices and encourages students to take an active role in promoting sustainable practices in their everyday lives.

The university also applauded Holison’s hard work and dedication to excellence in student research.
