Former Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu

The Minority leadership in Ghana’s Parliament has been unexpectedly changed, raising allegations of a “coup” among some surprised National Democratic Congress (NDC) legislators, as the opposition Members of Parliament (MPs) were unaware of the reshuffle.

The sudden change was executed by the recently-elected leadership of the NDC under the leadership of Johnson Asiedu Nketia who believe that change will help the party win power in the 2024 polls.

Former Deputy Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson replaces Haruna Iddrisu, a former Communication and Trade and Industry Minister, as the Minority Leader, while former Power Minister Kofi Armah Buah becomes the Deputy Minority Leader. Armah Boah will replace James Klutse Avedzi.

The letter below gives out the details.
