Ghana’s leading indigenous petroleum marketing company, GOIL PLC, has taken a bold step in redefining customer service at its retail fuel stations by offering free meals to patrons as part of an experiential initiative designed to build stronger community connections and enhance brand loyalty.

The “Fuel Your Morning with GOIL” campaign, shared across the company’s official social media channels, has seen motorists visiting the GOIL Nima Station in Accra being treated to hot breakfast meals throughout this week, with additional servings planned as the programme unfolds.

Today’s rollout has seen the initiative extended to the GOIL Asamankese Station in the Eastern Region, where customers travelling outside the capital have been offered warm waakye lunches, a popular local dish, while they fill up their vehicles.

Under the scheme, motorists simply “fuel your car, and fuel yourself”, reflecting the company’s newly emphasised service mantra. According to the social media notices, the offer applies to all customers who visit the participating stations combining high-quality fuel with a complimentary meal experience.

The initiative appears to complement GOIL’s wider efforts to enhance convenience at its retail touchpoints. In recent months, the company has been upgrading and expanding its network of service stations across Ghana, introducing additional customer-oriented facilities such as convenience marts, cafes and value services at locations in and around major towns.

While GOIL’s core business remains fuel retailing, with more than 400 service stations nationwide, this customer engagement strategy appears aimed at strengthening its “Good Energy” brand and differentiating services in an increasingly competitive downstream petroleum market.

Marketing analysts suggest that activations such as free meal offerings particularly combining meals with everyday routines like refuelling can deepen emotional brand connections and foster stronger consumer loyalty, especially in urban areas with dense traffic and commuter patterns.

For many patrons at the Nima and Asamankese stations, the meals have not only offered a moment of respite during busy weekday journeys but have also sparked discussion on social media, where users have shared photos and positive reactions to the campaign.

GOIL’s social media handles have also highlighted that the initiative is not limited to one or two locations. Posts indicate that the free breakfast campaign is active at additional stations such as 37 and Baatsona, expanding the geographical reach of the initiative.
