Manufacturing rate for January 2020 was 9.6 per cent, a 0.8 percentage point higher than figures for December 2019 which recorded 8.8%, the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS), has announced.
In the mining and quarrying sub-sector, the producer inflation rate decreased by 1.5 percentage points in January 2020 relative to the rate recorded in December 2019 (33.7%).
Regarding utilities, the rate for January 2020 decreased slightly by 0.1 percentage point over the rate recorded in December 2019, which is 12.7%.
The year-on-year inflation from the producer’s perspective for all industry was 13.3% in January 2020. This rate is 0.3 percentage points higher than the rate recorded in December 2019 (13.0%). The monthly change rate for January 2020 was 0.5%.
