Civil Servants in Ghana will from March 2020 begin to enjoy an additional percent pay rise, the media reports have indicated.

The salary increment follows the Finance Ministry granting approval for the payment of the remaining five percent interim premium for civil servants.

The agreed increment comes after a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between government and the executives of the Civil and Local Government Service Association of Ghana (CLOSAG).

The said MoU was signed on August, 18, 2016. A statement issued by the Ministry of Finance and signed by the Deputy Minister of Finance, Abena Osei-Asare, said consequently, 15% on the 2020 monthly basic salary is to be paid as premium to staff of the Civil Service and Local Government Service.

It added that the associated arrears are to be paid in a single tranche by the end of March 2020.
