Bobby Brown Jr., the 28-year-old son of singer Bobby Brown, was found dead in his California home Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police responded to a medical emergency at 1:50 p.m. to find the deceased male, later identified as Brown Jr., according to LAPD public information officer Jeff Lee. No further details were available as to the cause of death, pending a coroner’s examination. But no foul play was suspected, said Lee.

Brown Jr., who was following in his father’s footsteps with a music career, was one of two children from the 11-year on-and-off relationship between Brown and Kim Ward that ended in 2011. Brown was later married to singer Whitney Houston.

One of seven Brown children, Brown Jr. was 13 when he appeared on the family’s short-lived 2005 Bravo reality show, “Being Bobby Brown,” along with his half-sister, Bobbi Kristina Brown. Brown Jr. dropped his first music single “Say Something” in September.

Superstar singer Houston was found dead Feb. 11, 2012, in a Beverly Hills hotel bathtub, the victim of an accidental drowning brought on by heart disease and longtime cocaine abuse, as the Los Angeles coroner found weeks later.

Brown and Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was found face down and unconscious in the bathtub of her Georgia home three years later almost to the week, on Jan. 31, 2015. Bobbi Kristina died at age 22 in July 2015 in an Atlanta-area hospice. She was buried next to her mother in a New Jersey cemetery.

Her family blamed her ex-fiancé, Nick Gordon, who was never charged in the case. Gordon was found responsible in a wrongful death civil lawsuit and ordered to pay $36 million to Brown’s estate. He died at age 30 on Jan. 1, 2020.
