You are currently viewing Voting ends for Africa’s Most Respected CEOs Awards

The Business Executive Media Group, organizers of the Africa’s Most Respective CEOs awards is delighted to announce that we have successfully concluded voting for the 2021 edition of this novel awards scheme. Voting has officially closed across all the African jurisdictions in which CEOs are being considered for awards.

Importantly, despite inevitably logistical challenges, the awards scheme is more or less on schedule. Consequently we remain fully confident that our timelines for hosting the awards conferment ceremony in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai on the 17th of July 2021 will be met.

Voting was organized across all the delineated categories through a digital / online portal at no charge. We are pleased to report that across all countries voting was enthusiastic, with total votes received running to close to one million, despite the limitation of votes per person / device.

There were no eligibility criteria imposed that could have unduly affected the voting patterns and consequent results. Importantly the entire voting process with validations was implemented by dedicated independent consultants, indigenously African, but internationally reputed. As the organizers of this award scheme we vouch for the integrity of the voting process and assure that the results were not manipulated in any way by us or any other party.

The next stage, which is now already nearing completion, is the validation of all the votes received and their compilation to ascertain the winners. In similar fashion to the voting process itself the validation process is being conducted independently of us as the organizers, by top tier audit companies in each country. In line with the local content and participation ambitions of most African countries we have deliberately chosen to use indigenous audit firms in each country. While this is proving more logistically complex and financially expensive than using  a couple of multinational audit firms with collective presence across all the countries, we have decided on this path in line with our institutional Afro-centric outlook.

At the end of the validation process, the identities of the award winners will be confirmed and the winners will subsequently be notified before the end of June to give them adequate time to make the requisite preparations to attend the awards conferment ceremony to be held in Mid-July. However, since the winners will only be announced at the ceremony itself we will humbly request that notified award winners do not publicize their impending awards prior to the actual event… to preserve the beauty of their unveiling at the Gala Awards night.

Attendance of the Awards Conferment Ceremony is strictly by invitation and the presentation of the awards will be preceded by several trade and investment guidance presentations from multilateral institutions comprising the Economic Commission for Africa, the African Continental Free Trade Agreement secretariat and the newly formed African Chamber for Commerce, which indeed will be formally launched as part of the awards conferment ceremony.

The awards ceremony and the events accompanying it are aimed, in part, at bringing together a group of business chieftains, investors and public sector officials who are qualified to form the core of the emergent African single market.

Towards this end the event will be attended by awardees and their guests; other identified leading corporate chieftains, entrepreneurs and both direct and portfolio investors drawn from across Africa and major trading partners and investment counter-party countries, representatives of the diplomatic community and the international media.

There are still corporate/institutional sponsorship opportunities available for the event which would enable astute organizations reach a top tier pan African economic governance, business, finance, and investment community audience with their corporate reputation enhancement and product/service marketing messages.

We will keep stakeholders of further developments along the road to the awards conferment as they unfold.
